Fab5 began as a group of friends under another alias that recorded music on a cassette recorder just to keep out of the hot sun during the summer. Over time, the once 10 man group dwindled down to 5 but the music kept coming and became better as time went on. Fab5 was first recognized by it's present manager, Marco Morales of Backwoodz Ent. Inc., at a talent show in which they entered at the last minute and won in a tie-breaker round despite the presence of faulty microphones. From there, Fab5 began to grow in it's popularity in it's local community and work with one of Backwoodz's solo artist $ugabear. In the April of 2008, Morales main artist Bigg Jake the Mixtape passed away unexpectedly. Determined to keep Bigg Jake's dream alive, Morales sought talent to attempt to fill the void he was now faced with. With the assistance and encouragement of Jamie ,known to the world as $ugabear, Morales met with Fab5, then known as the East Texas Slidas, an the two came to an agreement. Over time and under the direction of Morales, the group changed it's name, continued to grow in popularity, and began to work a mixtape. Occupation: Gettin' Money was completed in June of 2009. In the Fall of 2009, Fab5 dropped it's first single "Get Off Me Gurl" which ski-rocketed it's local popularity. With the support of it's local fanbase, Fab5 followed it single debut with a video shot by Houston native Big Cease of Hata Proof Records. Fab5's Album should be out by January 2011. Keep your eyes scoping and ears open for this new Hot Rap group coming out of the South. FAB-5
