Hi! I'm Kristen Bruno of "Blues Matters" Lately I mainly write songs and perform locally without the group.
I am singer/songwriter/guitarist. I play acoustic, electric, slide and Dobro and a little pedal steel. I wrote both Razzle Dazzle Man and "Seven" at my kitchen table simultaneously on two seperate sheets of paper one in a few hours. “Razzle Dazzle Man” was voted the best blues song of the year by Songwriters Showcases of America in 2006. When I originally wrote and performed "Razzle Dazzle Man", some people gave me dirty looks like I was "unpatriotic" because I wanted peace, not war. I said I will keep playing it till they end the unfounded war. A year later we found that it was the terrorists, and not the country of Iraq which was to blame. I figured, "OK the truth is known, we made a mistake and I am sure we will get our miltary out of this country and concentrate on getting the terrorists. But I was wrong. They ignored the facts and kept on sending soldiers to die needlessly. Over 10 years later, I STILL play the song.
