I started playing at 16 when I bought a pawn shop "fake" Strat. I had always been fascinated by guitar and I started writing poems at about 14. I thought it made sense to put my words to music.
My interest in writing came from my Mom reading poems to me most of my young life. America's Best Loved Poems is a book I remember well. Casey at Bat, Face Upon The Bar Room Floor, and many more.
My interest in playing came from Hendrix, Zeppelin, and others from the late 60's and early 70's. Their expression with their music, particularly their guitars ,just made me feel a way that is still hard to explain!
I played out for years but really did not enjoy doing only other peoples tunes. I started recording in 1984. I got a recording degree from The San Francsico Audio Institute . When digital came along I really got into it. I have hundreds of lyrics and probably 30 completed tunes over the last 5 years.
