I was confined to my “block,” and travelling outside of it meant risking the chance of getting beat up or even killed. For many, growing up in the hood is no different than being locked up in a prison camp. I was finally set free at the age of 16 when a church member scheduled a job interview for me on Wall Street. Seeing all these monumental buildings, marble mirrored lobbies and corporate people with their suits & ties and briefcases opened my eyes to the possibilities beyond the hood.

At the tender age of 19, J. R. started a multi-million dollar Real Estate Investment firm, on the 80th floor, Tower I, of the World Trade Center, New York from the ground up. With his background in media arts, in 2001, he was the Executive Producer for the movie "One Punch" w/ Evander Holyfield.

After graduating from high school, he attended Long Island University where he studied Media Arts and Music.
