Christopher Wood Holmes (a.k.a. ‘Holmeswood’, Christopher’s musical alter ego) is an American pop-rock singer/songwriter, actor, director and producer of film and music videos. On October 9th, 2015 Holmeswood will be debuting his album length CD entitled “Holmeswood” as a singer/songwriter. Holmeswood , his self-titled 12 song electro-pop/rock studio album which he has recently completed co-writing 10 of the tracks and recording vocals on will be released through his management team at Redwood Entertainment through the company’s music label, Redwood Music International. On the album Holmeswood collaborated/co-wrote the original songs with NYC based British music producer Jamie Muffett and it also features covers of Neil Young’s "Heart of Gold" and Madonna’s "Hollywood". The release of “Holmeswood” follows the successful release of his single entitled “Back to the Beach” which is an exuberant debut recording, a festive electronic dance single that’s a vibrant celebration. On “ Holmeswood”, one can hear the undertones of classic Hollywood cinema soundtracks as in the song “James Dean” -- fused with sonic projection into the future which intones leaps of faith, growth, discovery, nature, emotions and dreams. These fun-loving tracks musically embrace the therapeutic and rejuvenating value of music with vitality and appreciation.
After being raised in rural Simsbury, Connecticut, Christopher followed his long untapped dream of breaking into show-business in a serious fashion when he eventually made the break and moved to New York City with stunningly immediate results—he was being cast in major motion pictures within the first year. This of course didn’t come without much hard work and years of preparation on his part. Prior to moving to the city, he performed in several community theatre shows in Connecticut and then progressed to working professional shows on Camelot and Carnival Cruise lines—all the while commuting from Connecticut after work at his corporate day-job to New York City for night-time acting classes.
In 2008, he made his live stage debut as the vocal performer as “Holmeswood” at the New York International Guitar Festival’s “Bob Dylan Song Contest.” When Holmeswood took the stage at the legendary Bitter End on Bleecker Street in NYC he brought the house down performing a pop version of Dylan’s "Like a Rolling Stone." From there he was selected as one of the finalists to perform at the Arts World Financial Center–Winter Garden. In 2009 Christopher created Holmeswood Features Entertainment, a music video production company in which he continues to serve as owner, director, editor, and producer.
